Jianhui Zhang received the B.S. and M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University, China and the Ph.D. degree from University of California, Berkeley in electrical engineering in 1999, 2001, and 2006 respectively. In June 2005, he joined National Semiconductor Corporation, Santa Clara, CA, as the senior design engineering manager of corporate research lab and battery management system business unit, focusing in the architecture and design of mixed signal devices and systems for power management applications. He was the principal architect and designer for design and development of SolarMagicTM product. He was also the chief architect and designer of National Semiconductor battery management system product for electric vehicle and grid energy storage application. From November 2010, Dr. Zhang joined Siemens Ltd. China as the chief technology officer for smart grid application business unit. His is in charge of developing the key technologies in the area of micro-grid, smart meter and electro-mobility. Dr. Zhang is a member of IEEE and served as the reviewer for IEEE Transaction on Power Electronics and Journal of Solid State Circuits. He co-authored more than ten journal and conference papers and had pending patents on power management systems for renewable energy sources.
