Dr. Shu holds a PhD in Electric Engineering and Automation from Wuhan University and is a Senior Engineer (professor level). He was elected as the 36th President of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and he is concurrently President of Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering. He has served as Chairman of China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd. since November 15th, 2018. He had successively served as Vice President, President, and Chairman of State Grid Corporation of China. Before that, he had served as President of State Power Construction Company, and as Chief Engineer of State Power Dispatching and Communication Center.
Dr. Shu is one of the most influential experts in the energy and power sector in the world. He is also Member of the Chinese National Energy Expert Advisory Committee and Member of the National 13th Five-Year Plan Energy Coordination Leading Group. Since 1982, he has been engaged in works such as power grid dispatching and operation, power grid development and planning, research and construction of ultra-high voltage power transmission and smart grid, renewable energy development, and international operation, etc., with rich theoretical knowledge and practical experiences.
Dr. Qi Wang is the Board Director and CEO of US-China Green Energy Council (UCGEC). In the past 10 years, Dr. Wang has actively facilitated extensive exchanges and pragmatic cooperation on clean energy innovation and climate change between U.S and China. He led the team to establish a wide range of successful partnerships with top universities, research institutes and enterprises across US and China. He is dedicated to developing UCGEC as a high-level platform for the integration of information exchange, technology cooperation and professional training.
Dr. Wang has 20 years experiences on technology R&D and industrialization. He had ever worked in the advanced technology development division of a Fortune-500 company, and he also serves as the CTO of a “Global Cleantech 100” company.
Dr. Wang had also completed the “National International Science and Technology Cooperation” project granted by China Ministry of Science and Technology. He has accumulated extensive experience from technology porotype design, lab experiments, scale up, to commercialization.
Dr. Qi Wang holds Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and he earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Tsinghua University. Dr. Wang has multiple U.S and China patents, and he has published 10+ papers on world leading journals. He has given invited talks on many international conferences.
Dr. Wang is one of the major leaders for organizing “2019 International Conference on Clean Energy”. He had also served as co-chairs of organizing committee for the 3rd – 6th US-China Green Energy Annual Conference. In addition, Dr. Wang is also an Executive Board Director of the China High-tech Industrialization Association.

Steven Chu is the William R. Kenan, Jr., Professor of Physics and Professor of Molecular & Cellular Physiology in the Medical School at Stanford University. He has published over 280 papers in atomic and polymer physics, biophysics, biology, batteries, and other energy technologies. He holds 14 patents, and an additional 6 patent filings. Dr. Chu was the 12th U.S. Secretary of Energy from January 2009 until the end of April 2013. As the first scientist to hold a Cabinet position and the longest serving Energy Secretary, he recruited outstanding scientists and engineers into the Department of Energy. He began several initiatives including ARPA-E (Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy), the Energy Innovation Hubs, and was personally tasked by President Obama to assist BP in stopping the Deepwater Horizon oil leak. Prior to his cabinet post, he was director of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where he was active in pursuit of alternative and renewable energy technologies, and Professor of Physics and Applied Physics at Stanford University, where he helped launch Bio-X, a multidisciplinary institute combining the physical and biological sciences with medicine and engineering. Previously he was head of the Quantum Electronics Research Department at AT&T Bell Laboratories. Dr. Chu is the co-recipient of the 1997 Nobel Prize in Physics for his contributions to laser cooling and atom trapping, and has received numerous other prestigious awards. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Philosophical Society, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Academia Sinica, and is a foreign member of the Royal Society, the Royal Academy of Engineering, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Korean Academy of Sciences and Technology. He received an A.B. degree in mathematics and a B.S. degree in physics from the University of Rochester, and a Ph.D. in physics from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as 31 honorary degrees.

Qiu Baoxing is the Counsellor of the State Council, the Chairman of China Committee of the International Water Association (IWA), Chairman of the China Urban Science Research Council, and the Vice Chairman of the Expert Committee, Coordinating Group on the Transformation of the Functions of the Government of the State Council. He is a PhD Supervisor in Economics and Urban Planning at Tongji University, Renmin University, Zhejiang University, Tianjin University and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He was a party leader for nearly 18 years in Yueqing, Jinhua and Hangzhou, three major cities in Zhejiang Province. He was a visiting scholar at Harvard University and participated in the relevant research projects. When he was the Vice- Minister of Housing and Urban Rural Development of PRC, he was in charge of the divisions in planning, urban planning, village planning and science and technology for energy conservation for 13 years. At the same time, he was also the Vice-Chairman of the National Coordination Group for Post-Wenchuan Earthquake Reconstruction of the State Council, the first administrative person in charge of major national special project on water pollution control. He has written more than 30 reports approved by the Premier of the State Council. He has received several awards from UNESCO, Green Building International and International Water Association. Many of his works have been translated from Chinese into English, German, and Italian and published by the foreign publishers.
Chair Robert Weisenmiller was appointed as member and Chair to the California Energy Commission in January 2011 by Governor Jerry Brown and re-appointed in January 2015 to March 2019. He fills the Engineer/Scientist position on the five-member Commission where four of the five members by law are required to have professional training in specific areas - engineering or physical science, environmental protection, economics, and law. Commissioner Weisenmiller brings more than 30 years energy experience to the Commission including expertise in electricity and gas markets and California regulatory policies. Chair Weisenmiller has served as an expert witness in more than 100 state and federal regulatory commission proceedings and has authored numerous publications on electricity and natural gas markets. Chair Weisenmiller is the lead commissioner on the Energy Commission's budget and management, legislative and intergovernmental matters, international relations, military partnerships, energy research, development, demonstration and deployment, climate change, combined heat and power and electricity and natural gas markets.
Before his appointment, Chair Weisenmiller, a co-founder of MRW & Associates, used his expertise to assist businesses, financial institution, regulatory commissions, and public agencies in strategic planning, policy development, analyzing energy markets and regulations, power pricing for qualifying facility projects, marginal cost analysis, rate design and implications of utility mergers. Commissioner Weisenmiller was also the co-founder and Executive Vice President of Independent Power Corporation.
Chair Weisenmiller's career also included a previous period of public service with the Energy Commission as Advisor to Commissioner, Manager of the Special Projects Office, and Director of the Office of Policy and Program Evaluation in the period between 1977 and 1982.

Dr. Daniel M. Kammen is a Professor of Energy at the University of California, Berkeley, with parallel appointments in the Energy and Resources Group, the Goldman School of Public Policy, and the department of Nuclear Engineering. He was appointed by then Secretary of State Hilary Clinton in April 2010 as the first energy fellow of the new Environment and Climate Partnership for the Americas (ECPA) initiative. In 2016, he began service as the Science Envoy for U. S. Secretary of State John Kerry. Kammen is the founding director of the Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory, and was Director of the Transportation Sustainability Research Center from 2007 - 2015. He has served the State of California and US federal government in expert and advisory capacities, including time at the US Environmental Protection Agency, US Department of Energy, the Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Office of Science and Technology Policy. Dr. Kammen has served as a contributing or coordinating lead author on various reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change since 1999. The IPCC shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.

Jizhen Liu, is an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor and Doctorial tutor. He used to be the President of North China Electric Power University, and now he is the Director of State Key Laboratory of Alternate Electrical Power System with Renewable Energy Sources. Meanwhile, he is Vice Chairman of Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering (CSEE), Vice Chairman of China Association for Public Safety, and Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
Professor Liu has research interests in modeling and control of thermal power generation, and the development and utilization of new energy electric power. In recent years, he has taken charge of one 973 Program, one 863 Program, one China & Britain cooperation project of Natural Science Foundation of China. He has been awarded 3 items of national prize for progress in science and technology, including one first prize, second prize 2, and 7 provincial-level incentives. He has published 5 monographs and over 200 academic papers being published including over 80 papers indexed by SCI.

Christophe Poinssot is the Nuclear Counselor at the French Embassy in Beijing (China) since August 2018, representing the French government in China for the civilian nuclear domain, and supporting the industrial and scientific French nuclear partnerships within China. He is also the representative in China of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), in charge of developing R&D and industrial partnership in the field of low-carbon technologies, numeric and digital technologies and health technologies.
Previously, he was from 2011 to 2018 the Director of the Research Department on Mining and Fuel Recycling Processes at the Nuclear Energy Division, French Alternatives Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). This 300-permanent staff department is in charge of developing spent nuclear fuel recycling processes and operating the Atalante nuclear facility. Prior to joining this department in 2008, he spent 15 years working in the field of nuclear waste and used fuel management.
Since 2011, Dr. Poinssot is also professor of nuclear chemistry at the National Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology (INSTN) and experts in fuel cycle and actinides chemistry. He has been for a long-time involved in international collaborations and is a member of several scientific committees of international conferences and for the evaluation of research teams. In 2017, he has been awarded Officer from the French order “Palmes Académiques” and also received the Van Geen Prize and Chair from SCK-CEN (Belgium). He has authored more than 60 international articles and 110 presentations in international scientific conferences. Among other, one of his last research study dealt with the environmental relative footprint of nuclear energy systems and the role of nuclear energy for mitigating the global climate change.

Mr. Qili Huang, the member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Senior Advisor of the State Grid Corporation of China, Chief Scientist in Electric Power of the China Energy Group. He is currently the chairmen of the technical committees at the State Key Laboratories, such as the Alternate Electric Power System with Renewable Energy Sources, the Power Grid Safety and Energy Conservation, and the Coal-based Clean Energy. He has won third level National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology, more than 20 provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological progress awards. Mr. Huang is the editor or author of five books, and several popular science readings. He has published more than 70 technical papers.
Mr.Qili Huang has been engaged in scientific research, engineering applications and technical management in the fields of energy and electric power for more than 50 years. He has presided over or participated in more than 40 consulting researches on national energy development strategies, and has provided reference suggestions for the country in the areas of large-scale energy system, such as renewable energy development, clean coal utilization, and multi-energy integration.
